How it works
To implement iCharge™ Web, you create a payment page on your site by inserting some HTML and JavaScript that we provide. When a customer clicks a PAY button on your payment page, this submits a form to iCharge™ which triggers a small secure window to pop up in the customer's browser. The popup method has been designed to be allowed by popup blockers.

Security on the popup page is provided by the iCharge™ server, so no security is required on your site. The popup page is small and keeps your payment page in the background so that the customer does not lose sight of your site. You can also skin the iCharge™ page to match the look-and-feel of your site.

The customer enters credit card details into the form in the secure window and submits the transaction. The transaction is processed by iCharge™ through the Australian EFTPOS network, all within a few seconds. If approved, money is transferred and a response code is returned from the bank.

iCharge™ displays the transaction status back to the customer. If approved, a printable receipt or tax invoice is issued, and also emailed to the customer.

iCharge™ provides a callback function which posts the transaction details and status to the nominated URL of a listener script hosted on your site. Each transaction triggers your listener script to update your own in-house IT application.

iCharge™ provides a Merchant Administration System called PayManager. You can log in to PayManager anytime to monitor transactions, issue refunds, produce business reports and control all settings of your iCharge™ system.

Through PayManager, transaction details can also be downloaded as a file for loading into your own application, or simply opened in a spreadsheet or database program.



A word on security
High grade encryption is used on all transmissions over the Internet to protect both yourself and your customer. 128-bit SSL is implemented between iCharge™ servers and the customer's computer, and between PayManager and the Merchant's computer. A Virtual Private Network (VPN) is used upstream of iCharge™ to transmit transactions to the Payment Gateway and financial institution network. iCharge™ uses strong 1024-bit RSA encryption to secure the VPN.

The iCharge™ system is operated in a highly secure physical and network environment, which includes restricted access, 24-hour monitoring and firewall protection designed to prevent electronic intrusion. All critical data are stored by iCharge™ in encrypted form.
